this song strikes me as someone whose parental figure heavily pushed religion on them since they were born, telling them they would “face a judgement” when they die and being generally intolerant of their child due to mental illness/being lgbt/something else that’s considered a sin, possibly even being abusive. the parent dies, and the kid (now an adult) is happy to finally be rid of their toxicity. i think this bc of the references to crucifixes, judgement, etc that seems intentional. could just be me projecting tho, coming from heavily religious parents myself :’)

these songs r very different from one another but does this possibly have something to do with six feet under? I see some parallels like the whole judgement thing, the other persons grave, the fact that the flowers the tea is made of are poisonous might have smthn to do with the double suicide someone theorized abt in which only one person survived. And it fits together bc in 6 feet under the singer is talking about how they miss the time them and the other person spent together but see they never cared for them and wanted them dead, and in this song the singer is talking about how they wasted 21 years and are glad the other is dead?
