Could you imagine pulling up to that old gas station in a Tesla Cybertruck? 😂😂 That gas station attendant would think they were from outer space not just from the future!! 😮😮😂😂
I love imagining that all of these were happening at the very same gas station, and the poor dude that worked there spent his life telling people around him about all these time travelers, and that he isn't crazy, and nobody believed him 😭😭
I don't know about the specific gas station you're referring to but I live about an hour away from Valdosta. We visit Valdosta often because there's a huge theme park there and I remember turning off at the wrong exit sometime back in 2006-2008 and immediately feeling a sense of dread. It was a desolate area with a dead end sign on one side of the overpass. We hurried up and turned around to get back on the interstate because we did not feel safe. The eerie silence and sense of dread everyone is describing is exactly what my husband and I felt immediately...so much so that I distinctly remember it to this day.
Another blind test idea is get anyone who's emailed to draw a floor plan of how the inside of the gas station was set up. If only you can see the drawing and there's been no description of which side of the door the register was (other than toilets at the back) then there's a lot of room for interpretation and change. Those who draw it the same as Maria and John Doe are more likely real accounts. Also, it seems to only happen to those in a "desperate" situation. Whether for the toilet or gas - I wonder if that desperate intent manifests this place. Locals may not hear much of it as they wouldn't need to visit it for the same reasons. John's dad stopped talking about it after losing his whole family so, stands to reason people keep crazy stories to themselves.
There are pre-colonial occurrences like this documented as well. A Native American studies mentor of mine was looking at journals and private writings of trappers and traders interacting with Native nations on the frontier, documents they never published and might not have written so freely if they thought they were going to be read. Stories of people getting lost in a blizzard or other extreme/great need, stumbling into a tribal village late at night when they thought they weren't going to make it, only to hear when getting back to their last more familiar tribal settlement that that place had been abandoned for years but told "yeah, that just happens sometimes." It was a fascinating project, I've been trying to get back in touch to see if she ever published anything from it.
I do Worker's Comp scheduling. Every once and a while, I'll have a patient tell me that they refuse to drive thru the Valdosta area to get medical testing or treatment. I asked one of them once why. He was a trucker, so long drives don't bother him. He said the highways were weird near Valdosta. I assumed he meant bad. Next time I have a patient in the area, I'll ask if they can tell me any stories.
Interstate 75 from Marietta Georgia (home of the Big Chicken) to the Florida state line was completed and opened in 1971. My thinking is that since many stories reported that they couldn't find the interstate that the time line they were suspended in must be before 1971 when interstate 75 didn't exist. Hope this helps determine the time line in question for the gas station. Really enjoy the emails...
Speaking as a historian/archivist, you should try checking for any historical societies or organizations in that area. People donate “odd” things all the time, like key chains, glass bottles, menus from restaurants, old signs from businesses/buildings that don’t exist anymore. The place might not exist anymore, but that ephemera tells historians that they did. It’s like a giant puzzle for us. It tells us what the community was like sometimes. Plus, if it’s a historical society, they may have records of the donors of those items and/or surname records of families that lived in the area and had some kind of impact on the town. Old county and court records sometimes get thrown out after a number of years, but sometimes a historical society may rescue the records for preservation. I’m a skeptic but I’ve also had enough weird experiences to know anything is possible. Hope the above info helps in the search, if for nothing else but to connect people with history. (Also, if it was a sundown town, those records may have been destroyed if the town decided to bury its past. But, if you find someone who lived there during that time, they can potentially provide an oral history.)
I've never been so invested in a story! I had a creepy Georgia story, but not in Valdosta. It was in a small town, ironically called Portal.
The facts that everyone has the same eerie feeling and knowing the need to get out! I wonder if there has ever been anyone who hasn’t listened to their gut feeling and gotten stuck in the time loop!
I haven’t “ran” to YT in years excited for a video in almost a decade. Well done Ashlee for this content. 🎉
No personal experiences here, but we just relocated to Valdosta in October. From what we're aware, there is only a single VFW post here in Valdosta, and it's Post 1777. Here is the location information: Post 1777 Valdosta Post 2417 S Patterson St Valdosta, GA 31601 United States You may also want to verify if it's a VFW, or an American Legion. They are two different things. We've also been told by friends and family that live in the area to avoid the more rural areas south of Valdosta after dark, that there are strange things that happen, most of them unexplainable, and that a lot of smaller ghost areas exist on a lot of those back roads. SR-376, while not remote, isn't very well lit, and after sun down can be very desolate, especially the area between Clyattville and Lake Park, and then again from Lake Park out towards Statenville.
I hope this turns into a series! Georgia is a very haunted place in many ways.
It was 1989 or 90. My son and daughter were babies so I would wait till “bedtime” to drive from NE metro Atlanta to Lakeland Florida where my mom lived. It was about a 7 1/2 hour drive. Leave between 8 and 9 arrive between 3:30-4. I was a road warrior type of driver and would drive until the car was close to empty - stop, get gas, go to the bathroom and grab any road snacks or drinks and then go again. So it was late and Like the others I pulled off the exit to find a spot. This exit was dark and not my normal one although I had thought it was. The dark road didn’t bother me as the road between 75 and Lakeland is like that and you drive through all these itty bitty towns. What did bother me is I was almost out of gas (yes young and dumb to get down so low when traveling) and there was nothing anywhere… I finally come up to this gas station and hop out of the car. The pumps didn’t have a credit card slot which was not completely unusual as while it wasn’t completely new it still wasn’t on all pumps. I run in to give the guy my card to hold while I pumped. He looked at me weirdly and honestly I was so focused on gas and babies in the car; he said maam I don’t know what this is. I pause and looked at him and could see he was genuinely baffled. I said you know a credit card. A Mastercard. He said I’m sorry we don’t take this. At this point I’m in trouble. I didn’t have much cash. I said I only have $5 and I’m freaking as it took forever to get to this place. Gas was around .75 a gallon and I am now trying to do math in my head. He said let me go pump it for you. I’m like that is so nice… again young and dumb and not truly focused. I asked if I could rush to the restroom while he watched my babies (again young and dumb and oh so naive). I go quickly to the bathroom and come out. I was looking at the snacks and I do remember them being dusty which I thought was strange but didn’t pay much attention as I had $5 and that was going to have to go in my car. I proceeded outside and happen to look at the pump-to see how much it was. I was like that’s really old timey the numbers would flip up and down and it was $2 and change. He was looking at my car very oddly. He turns and looks at me and for the first time looked at him. The hair on the back of my neck stood up and the fight or flight adrenaline kicked in. His eyes. His eyes looked almost black - no whites. He did nothing to threaten or harm me but my common sense finally kicked in. Young girl alone with 2 babies. No one knows where I am. I back away and try to rush to get in the car all while saying thank you thank you… he grabbed the top of my door and I am terrified. He hands me back my $5 bill and tells me a young girl should not be alone like this. Everything is a blur from there. I leave and race out of there like the hounds of hell was chasing me. Like others have said it felt like forever to get back to the interstate going past that place like two more times. Each time with it looking older and then boarded up before finally hitting the interstate. All of this felt like 30 minutes- an hour. I made it to my mom’s at 9:30 over 5 hours late. My kids were still asleep which they were typically awake by 7. I don’t know what happened. I always felt like the twilight zone music should have been playing. I do think I scared the man as much as he scared me. Maybe more as he knew I was odd right from the start and it took me awhile to get to that.
This whole SR 376 time glitch, reminds me of the series FROM. The past, present and future are happening all at the same time. This is why these time glitches happen
Just a note on people not hearing noise or nature noises, this same thing is reported with people who encounter big foot and dogman entities.
SR 376 is also called Clayettsville hwy and its in Lake Park, GA which is south of Valdosta, GA. I have been to Lake Park many times in the past to go shopping there. I do recall driving many miles down the road looking for a gas station and feeling lost. When I did reach the gas station it looked like it was back in time, so I didn't stop there. I turned around and headed back. Although it should have been a short distance back & a straight road with no turns, I found myself lost and frustrated that it was taking so long to get back to where I was familiar with. I seemed to have to turn around several times until I found my way back. This happened back in the late 90s early 2000s before ppl even talked about time glitches. So I didn't think much about it until I came across this video. I haven't been to Lake Park since then, but now Im thinking about making the trip again since I am more aware now what to pay attention too.
Honestly whether these stories are real or not , they are all entertaining.
Your dog is having a ball on the couch!! 😂😂😂
