Imo Ryobi is the best homeowner brand. Good enough to do anything around the house, built well enough to last, and cheap. As a casual homeowner you shouldn't be spending a crap ton on tools cuz you barely using them.
Ryobi never moved away from post style batteries because their new batteries can still power tools they made 25 years ago. I still have some blue tools from 20+ years ago that work well with batteries I bought within the last year.
Ryobi's 40V line for lawn equipment is actually pretty solid. If you're just a homeowner, and don't do yard work for a living, Ryobi 40V is a good option.
I worked with an hvac contractor who dealt with mostly small scale jobs. He ran all ryobi gear. When we were talking about it he just said at least no one steals his batteries...
I use ryobi tools every day doing property maintenance/ remodeling, and doing mechanic work on ambulances. They work great, anyone who says they suck doesnt know what they are talking about
I’ve got my original Ryobi tools…when they were about the only battery tools from over 20 years ago, when they were blue…and they still work 👍🏻😎🤩👏🏻
It's like watching 4 Junior High School boys going through the toy box they haven't opened since they "were kids" (i.e. 3 years before when they were 9). Everything draws a scream and a fart joke. Love it!
i am a mechanic and love my Ryobi tools. have had the same impact for 10 years and use it daily. and one of the best parts is the batteries always stay the same platform.
HD sells a ton of Ryobi tools WITHOUT batteries. A lot of people buy the tool, get it home, and go "WTF? Where's the battery?" So they return it right away.
I've commented on one of the channel's videos before, and I'll say it again- Ryobi kicks ass. FOR A SPECIFIC USE. I'm a home owner, DIYer, my own landscaper, and occasional light contrustion project guy. The ryobi one+ line has been my main platform for years. The worst thats happened is a few bum batteries. Everything from lawn stuff to drills to glue guns up to wood working and saws of all types. I'm not a contractor. Im just a guy who needs stuff to assemble some furniture, do my lawn, maybe design and build some basic stuff around the house. It feels like this channel is liking it more and more, but Ryobi just gets pooped on way too much for all the work people get done with it.
Ryobi's decades-old battery design is one of the reasons they're so prevalent. I still have one of the old Blue & Yellow drills from 2004 that's still alive and kicking. The old batteries are long dead, but the drill lives on
Ryobi doesn’t change their better design because it makes older tools useless when the battery cells die. That’s why they promised to never change their battery design. I love it because I have some blue and yellow Ryobi drills that still work because of it.
As a homeowner and not very mechanically inclined, I love my Ryobi tools. They are perfect for small jobs around the house. If I was a professional I would not use them, but for light home use I think they are perfect for price. A neat trick when you go to Home Depot go when the rep is there and they will occasionally throw in a free item!
I owned a small lawn mowing business and all I used was Ryobi 40 volt. At the resrt I work at our shop tools and lawns tools are all Ryobi, cheaper to replace then any pro brand since employees are hard on stuff. You guys have way to much fun with these boxes lol
Imagine picking your tools based on the color because you’re worried of what “real tool guys” will think of you
My dad had used Ryobi for his work (superintendent for a home builder) and they have worked great. He had an impact he bought before I was born and it just went out last October, +17 years of solid use and it finally gave up. Cheap, affordable and reliable they make good products.
As a ryobi owner (multiple tools btw). It has never done me wrong Sure I’m not an expert of a contractor or anything but as for DIY and maintenance around the house this is perfect. Back when I was working in construction tho I used Milwaukee and Mikita only but all that got compensated by the company. 😂
I have Ryobi lawn tools(mower, blower, weed eater, and edger) and I love them. Been great and work like a dream.
As a Home Depot employee, there’s a decent amount of contractors that buy Ryobi because their brushless line works good enough but they’re cheaper to replace when they inevitably “walk off” the job-site
