Droids got the best friends. When they joined that discord call, they didn’t just sign up to comfort him, they signed up to potentially here him die, it’s dark but the fact that they took that on is true friendship. Glad they can all laugh about it now.

Here's the thing. Depending on how fast that thing was moving and how close it was at the time of the call, that boss may have saved Droid's life (or at least tried to advise him as well as he could given the circumstances). As someone who is a city and a half away from Tornado Alley, when that shit hits, the LAST place you want to be is *in your car*. Being in a structure that is at least relatively stable and rooted to the ground is LEAGUES BETTER than being caught in your car, even a warehouse has a steel frame that gives it structure. Heavy duty trucks, Eighteen-wheelers, and even whole-ass school busses have been pulled in, torn to metal shreds, and thrown MULTIPLE MILES away from where they were originally in any tornado above EF-3. If he was driving anything close to a four-door sedan at the time and he didn't know where it was (at NIGHT no less), choosing to drive would have been a nigh-certain death sentence.
