Absolutely love mine! Iām actually on my second LC500. Our first one had the Touring Packageāsuper comfortable for long road trips with a smoother, more relaxed ride. We even took it through the Tail of the Dragon, and it held its own surprisingly well! For my second LC500, I went with the Dynamic Handling Package, itās a firmer ride, the driving experience feels more connected and athleticāespecially in the curves. Took it through some mountain roads (TOTD) recently and was absolutely blown away. Iāve been a Lexus owner for a long time, and I actually prefer the first-gen interior. No issues with the non-touchscreen setupāIām used to the Lexus infotainment by now. Iād love to own a 911 someday when Iām older, but for now, the LC500 hits the sweet spot for me!

I always felt the LC500 is an Aston for people that want a Lexus. Like so many cars, it will be just a used car for the next 20 years, and then it will go up in value.
Unfortunately, you pulled the trigger one year too soon. The 2025 LC coupe comes with new, upgraded and welded front and rear underfloor braces. I have put 200 miles on the car. These braces have significantly improved the driverās road feel and cornering/handling capability of the car. The steering in the 2025 has also been recalibrated for improved road feel. I owned 4 Porsches and a McLaren and feel the LC can easily compete in the handling category. And it is also important to say you selected the Inspiration Series which does not have the all-wheel steering option which significantly contributes to the handling and overall feel of this car in high speed driving.
I've had my 2025 model in Ultrasonic Blue with the DHP for a month now, and itās clear theyāve really fine-tuned the steering and handling. I've driven older models before, and none of them felt this solid. I'm beyond satisfied ā I honestly can't imagine a better all-around car.
David I genuinely appreciate your candor and very in-depth insight in general and particularly with this review. It drives home the point that a buyer has to really thoroughly evaluate and sort out what they want in an automobile. LC500 and the 911 are frequently compared and they shouldnāt be. The 911 is a from the ground up a dedicated top level āsports car ā. It will have superior sports car attributes I.e. steering feel,weight and connection. The LC 500 is a long wheelbase uber built quality GT car so refinement, ride quality and comfort are the key priorities. Either car is truly special once you honestly determine what you really are searching for in an automobile. Iāve driven the 911 Carrera numerous times and it is splendid. However for my own desires I prefer the premium GT experience that the LC 500 provides .As a bonus itās one of the best built cars in the world. David you should consider the all wheel drive Carrera for your cold weather location. Best wishes.
Hey David, the reason the insurance is so high on the LC is because of the replacement costs of the panels and lights that are some of the most expensive parts in the industry. It is one of the most unique cars out there in styling but those beatiful designed parts are very expensive and the insurance companies eventually found out. I do beleive this car will eventually go up in value but not for some time. Thank you for sharing your experience, I really enjoy your videos..
This car has never been, and was never, a sports car. Itās a Grand Tourer and always has been.
Appreciate it David. But RCF always because it's a proper sports coupe. The steering input is very much driver centric in the RCF along with Suspension and Chassis, the LC 500 needs a lot of bracing to keep it stiff, in older RCF's you get TVD which is fantastic. Plus in the RCF you can get Carbon Ceramic rotors upgrade as optional from Track Edition parts. Also the auxiliary cooling systems in the F model are much more superior vs none in LC500, Inspiration series gets the Japan S package exclusive AT cooler but it is no match for RCF. It's a fine car and one of the best. Also the 10-Spd is coveted, it hunts for gears unlike the RCF 8Spd unit also F car can run around laps without getting overheated, LC 500 cannot do that in Sport S+ mode it will get hot. Also the weight is very much felt in this coupe. I can understand why people go with 911 but that car in base form is not worth money. Either go 718 GT4 RS or none. Because the NA engine destroys every other forced induction machine in it's linear power and exhilaration. Plus modern 911 adds fake sound too. LC 500's best part is the factory exhaust, it's just perfect. No aftermarket exhaust for other 2UR cars is gonna beat it, not even Novel. Because it's bulletproof exhaust without any drone. So in the end LC vs 911 ? Flatout LC 500 for me. It's no contest. Can you please review RCF Final Edition ? It deserves a spot up there and it's last year for RCF, please do a video on it.
When I bought my Florsheim loafers. I had no idea that when I ran marathon races they just wouldnāt do the job. I continued to wear them in the next three marathons but they just were a big disappointment. Iāve decided not to keep them. Honestly, I donāt know what the heck this guy is talking about. Iāve got a 2018 LC 500 that Iāve owned for almost 7 years. Itās a wonderful car and since I live in the real world and drive in traffic, lots of traffic surrounded by people who simply want to get where theyāre going safely, I find that when I turn the steering wheel to the left, the car goes exactly where I think itās going to go and when I turn the steering wheel to the right, it goes exactly where I think itās going to go. However, if I wanted a car for the track where I could do spirited driving safely without endangering the lives of other people I probably wouldnāt choose the LC 500. So David, obviously youāre a Porsche guy. go by the car of your dreams and I hope itās everything you expect. Iāve heard some of them are actually quite dependable and the maintenance is not a problem. Iāve also heard that many of these cars have problems that get very expensive. Iām just a simple guy who likes really nice cars and that is why Iām keeping my LC 500. Other than routine maintenance, this car has been one fantastic machine.
I appreciate your analytical approach. It is beautiful and I like the Lexus steering feel in contrast to your preferences. The interior is incredible. Someone will snap it up who lives in the right setting and climate. I live in the US Midwest and this would not be a car we could drive from December-March at all.

I know you are a car enthusiast, but you also knew this car is NOT a typical true sports car and you traded your GX460 for this car. If/when you sell it you will lose $$$ to buy a 911. I know you also drove a 911, but then you should have bought the 911 and not complain about the LC steering feel. I can tell when you buy the 911 you will complain about the cost of maintenance and ownership because that is typical of 911. All I am saying is this is a great car and keep it, and it might be cheaper if you rented the 911 on weekends every once and a while, but it is all up to you David.
