I always love how the moods in these videos can shift from MAXIMUM SHITPOST to psychological horror.
Just remember: The Nemesis is playing RECORDINGS. You're hearing the last words of your fellow employees before it ripped them to shreds, and regardless of whether or not you actually fall for the ruse or if you intentionally go after it to avenge your lost comrades, it's still using their final moments to lure in its next victims...
Okay but the Nemesis' dying voicelines are genuinely unsettling. It reveals its sapience with almost every one of them, and in the one shown here it's difficult not to imagine just what such a machine could have witnessed. It's too strong to be threatened by anything but the strongest wildlife, which has been shown to ignore it anyway, and it spends almost all if not all of its time on hoxxes, and the game has hinted at truly terrifying variants of the glyphids before. If any one thing not native to hoxxes is equipped to explore the deepest regions of it, it's Nemesis.
Also never even played deep rock galactic but Windette makes it look fun AND interesting through audible hate. Mind-blowing. I love being verbally assaulted.
I love how the haz 5 clip is from a swarm mod where you can make it up to 10x worse, tbh though after too many hours in this game, it's true.
Windette is at this point our own personal GLaDOS, always ready and happy to insult us and belittle us. Thank you, Windette, for your invaluable service to society
I'm impressed with how terrifying you made lethal difficulty look! I love haz 5. It's like one of thriller dread filled those horror movies where you don't know who, if anyone, will be alive by the end of it. with each scenario somehow being worse, and every light shined into the darkness reinforcing the true endless hellscape that is hoxxes. except this isn't a horror movie where you just wonder if that one character you like will live, because it's you down there. And whether you survive, isn't down to a plot. It's down to you. whenever i think of haz 5, one memory always comes to mind. It was a salvage mission, and I was a scout. Gunner wanted some flares shot across the cave so we could see the bugs earlier. after that flare was launched, he actually froze. What was once a cliff in sandblasted corridoors, was now a wriggling wave of chitin, claws, and teeth, heading towards our location. when even the gunner freezes, you know it's bad.
4:15 I was expecting a scary amount of enemies, but an entire cave crawling with those spider things is terrifying.
You know, if my first introduction to the Nemesis wasn't the drop pod landing on it at the very start of the mission, it might be scarier to me rather than just "oh god this asshole again"
"verbally curb stomped" I have never heard anything more accurate to what I enjoy out of this channel
“This game was practically made for you idiots” Oh yeah, did you know there’s a mod called CustomDifficulty that lets you manipulate elements of the game to make things *even harder*? It even comes with custom presets popular among the masochist community, such as Hazard 6, Hazard 7, 2x and 3x versions of each, and a variety of fun side-difficulties such as tanky enemies only, and my personal favorite (I don’t have a problem, I have not enough people to play this with) Oops All Bulks
WHOOO! Always waiting for a chance for more verbal abuse.
Windette is honestly even funnier with a volume booster on, because +yell factor while - throat damage
I watched your Deepnest video recently, while watching I thought to myself, "I'm not that stupid right", then i died to Nosk 4 times and realized, I'm even dumber than I thought Edit: i just beat him
10:00 "Oh god my health is a lot lower than I thought " Funnily enough it was opposite for me. I always assumed that you have roughly the same amount of health and shield, so going on no shiled mission for the first time, and it was hunting Dreads who can chew through your shield in a single hit, I was sweating bullets and was incredibly careful thinking I can be oneshot at any time 10 minutes into the mission, after taking a couple of hits: "Holy shit my health is a lot higher than I thought"
I'm just going to say I fucking love the edits on Lethal difficulty because as someone regularly play on that difficulty It's accurate feels like a goddamm horror movie And I love it
Honestly one of the only series that I can watch from hell and back
it was thanks to your first DRG video that I discovered the beauty that is being a space dwarf miner, and I can't thank you enough. ROCK AND STONE!!!
That shot at 4:17 better than any of the new Alien films put together that gave off massive "oh f*ck! oh sh*t!" vibes I love it
