Good information. Hope Toyota will listen to your request especially bringing back V6
You mentioned bringing back the V6 naturally aspirated engine to America about 20 times.. You should have mentioned it a million times.. until Toyota finally gets the message and listens.. You mentioned the V6 is in other countries, but not the U.S.. Doesn't seem fair.. And like David mentioned.. Toyota should make more simple basic versions of each of their models (not just the loaded models) .. Basic models cost less.. I would even like to see Toyota bring back more simple manual physical controls on the dashboard..
David, It is such a relief to see you joining in our effort to reshape the Toyota lineup. 😉 Following along in the order in which you made suggestions, I will add a few of my own: 1) The 4Runner needs the 40/20/40 second row seat restored and the hybrid battery should be placed under the second row seat like it is in the Tacoma. 2) Another feature the 4Runner (and every other SUV) needs to borrow from the Tacoma is the fold- forward front passenger seat seen in the two door model. How Toyota managed to add that feature to a pickup while neglecting to include it in the rest of their lineup is a subject for a whole video. 3) When it comes to the Land Cruiser, I agree that other powertrain options would help. The 2.4 Turbo and 2.7 2TR-FE are both emissions compliant and being installed in Land Cruisers on the same assembly line building our turbo hybrids. 4) It goes without saying the 70 Series and Land Cruiser FJ 10:05 would be welcomed with open arms. 5) In regard to the new RAV4, it may be too late for us to intervene. 😉 6) The fashion forward Prius could be joined by a more practical Prius v. 7) Toyota does not need to reintroduce the non-hybrid Camry to lower the price, they just need to offer Canadians the bargain priced Camry LE and the same can be said 14:30 for the Grand Highlander LE. 8) The Sienna is in need of a production upgrade to keep up with demand. 9) By all means bring over the 15:48 PHEV Crown Signia but also offer the cheaper XLE in Canada. 10) The more 👑👑👑👑 options the better. 11) The Corolla Cross 18:35 needs its wheelbase refreshed by a few inches to add useful rear seat legroom more than it needs a new grille or powertain. 12) The Corolla hybrid wagon in AWD 19:35 would be a very welcome addition to the lineup. 13) The elegant car seen at 20:16 would be a crowning achievement in the Toyota sedan range. 🤩
Keep your Land Cruiser
Thanks David for mentioning the cheap plastic interior of toyota 's late model's
Keep the Land Cruiser, David.
Prefer the way the 5th gen seats fold down. I'm over 6 feet tall and losing any rear space is a deal breaker for me. I am confident Toyota can do this
everyone wants the NA V6 back. Toyota won't listen, so don't buy
Bring back naturally aspirated V6 in 4Runner and V8 in Land Cruiser
David, we are patiently waiting for your detailed review of a production 2025 4Runner. I hope you get a vehicle soon to measure the gaps and give driving impressions.
A nice affordable pickup truck under 30k ... Not necessarily a Ford Maverick killer but something Toyota used to have pre Tacoma.
thanks for your review. you nit pick the doors that most people wouldn't about the feel. That's what makes your detailed perspective
Toyota needs to stick to its philosophy of building very reliable long lasting vehicles or it will end up like Nissan.
These gaping grills are becoming an overkill on Toyotas.
David, it sounds like 4Runner and Tacoma trim package you're looking for is the TRD Offroad Premium. ORP trim has nearly everything the Trailhunter and TRD Pro have, just not as good but quite a bit cheaper. Toyota did cheap out on the 4Runner interior of the ORP though, especially given the price increase over the '24 model. The 4Runner ORP needs to have dual zone climate control and more soft-touch materials (particularly on the upper doors), especially given the price point. The Land Cruiser needs to have the twin turbo V6 option. Otherwise, there isn't much incentive to buy it over a 4Runner ORP that cost $10-15k less. Totally agree with the rest of your points. Plug-in Crown Signia would be amazing, and Toyota really needs to bring the Crown Sport to the US market.
Hi David, Thanks for this overview. In addition to your suggestions, I have one more request for the 4Runner Trailhunter and Off Road trims in general: Please Toyota! Provide the Full Time 4WD drivetrain on the off-road models as an option at least. I have an earlier version of this truly excellent system in my 2013 FJ Cruiser (6spd Manual Transmission version). I can tell you from my experience both on pavement in good and bad road/weather conditions and especially for mild/average off-road driving this system is a joy to drive. For most off-road conditions it is safe, useful, sure-footed, and trouble free. Most of my off-road driving is done with this system. When necessary on more difficult or technical terrain, I can lock the center differential and then it behaves like a typical Part Time 4WD system from Toyota. It appears it is only available on the Platinum 4Runner trim. I don't think it would be too difficult to offer this on some other trims. If I ever have to replace the FJ, I would get the Land Cruiser 1958 because it has the Full Time 4WD system or maybe the new Mini Cruiser if that actually becomes available and if it has the Full Time 4WD. But it would really be nice to see it offered for the 4Runner trims intended for off-road use. Thanks, and keep your Land Cruiser!

Hello again David! I think if you did get a 4Runner, based on how you use it, you might want the TrailHunter because it probably has better ride quality. These vehicles are definitely too expensive. It is unfortunate. I'll never consider a 6th gen, and want to move on from Toyota/Lexus after I own my GX550. Even with the LX, I am very disappointed that Lexus price gated having a rear locking differential behind the much more expensive 700h hybrid specific Overtrail model. I always wanted an LX600, but wanted an added rear locker as an option. It doesn't need arbitrary hybrid that drives up price, but of course we can not have it simple. The Tacoma TRD Pro seats are a perfect example! To quote my father "Toyota keeps spending the customer's money for them". I now understand what he means lol. About the Supra, I just want to see the Japanese legend be properly Japanese built! Toyota can collaborate to make it, as long as it is a Japanese manufacturer. Excellent video, as usual!😊
We have a second generation Rav4 (2004), which is a lot smaller than the current Rav4. The rear seats however are easily removable creating a big cargo space. If they made a new version of the 2004 I would buy one. Make it 4wd with a couple more inches of ground clearance while you're at it. I have a 2025 Tacoma. I'm 6'2" tall and wish they would have made the ceiling an inch or two higher, and add 3" or so to the back seat area. My 2022 4runner is so much larger feeling inside. I don't care what the critics who have never driven the new Tacoma say, the engine has lots of power and just wants to go. It's a blast to drive.
