Those Pokemon are from gen 1, and pidgy already has a mega… the pattern is water bug flying… so perhaps a flying type mega… excluding already known megas and we have scyther, dodrio, butterfree, fearow, farfetch’d, golbat(or its evo), and dragonite as potential candidates from what I got right now. If we include the fact that these can easily be acquired, then butterfree, fearow, and dodrio are the potential candidates. In theory of course

What if the 5 Pokémon shown are supposedly to be the Gen 1 equivalent of Gen 6 Pokémon that will get Mega Evos? Poliwag -> Froakie Paras -> Clauncher Pidgey -> Fletchling Tentacool -> Inkay Caterpie -> Scatterbug

I have a theory: Legends ZA was planned for 2024 Pokemon Masters anniversary and releases of new Partner-Pokémon’s are related to the main games announcements (example: before and after the release of Legends Arceus, there were Sinnoh scouting banners and re-runs of Giratina, Dialga, Darkrai etc. in the game. it’s not casualty) On the Pokemon Masters anniversary (August 2024) there was a special release of Cynthia - Garchomp (with its mega), Steven - Metagros (again with its mega) and Lance - Dragonite (which doesn’t have mega). Given the previous, I believe this 5th anniversary was supposed to introduce Mega Dragonite to the game But they couldn’t because Legends Z-A was delayed. (This riddle reinforces my theory since they are all gen 1 Pokémon’s, and the only one with a current meta is Pidgeot which is a flying type as well as Dragonite) These games work on schedules and plans so Masters probably had all this ready but again couldn’t until oficially announced.

I'm thinking the new mega might be Mega Forretress. If you add all of their dex entry numbers, you get 204, it's pre evo, Pineco's number. Also, Forretress is a bug type, so kinda correlates with the pattern and if you look at it's weaknesses and resistances, you'll notice that it just about resists every type shown in the puzzle. (That is, except for flying. Hence why I said "just about".) It resists poison, (tentacool) water, (poliwag and tentacool) grass, (paras) bug, (paras and caterpie) and normal (pidgey).
