This URSA cine system hopefully (although the latest tariff deals make this unlikely) in the future has a mini version suited for content creators on the move like myself on a recumbent trike going to out there places but could not take this beast with me and still that desire a purpose built rig for 3D immersive content.
Hugh is in beast mode, as usual!
Thank you so much, Hugh Hou, for the valuable insight and for finishing your video so quickly! Wow, I think this is the beginning of a new chapter in filmmaking. I can't wait for my Ursa Immersive to arrive.
Glad there’s a camera available with the resolution and ocular distance for proper VR in Vision Pro
Great work Hugh and crazy turn around on the video! Had fun hanging out with our friends at BlackMagic yesterday.
Thanks so much for this amazing deep dive into the future of immersive filmmaking! It’s incredible to see the full Blackmagic pipeline—from camera to Vision Pro playback—coming together like this. Exciting times ahead! Good night!! :-)
You’re a godsend! We couldn’t make it to nab but so wanted to see those sessions and the camera, thanks a lot! ❤
Thanks for filming and sharing this Hugh! Much appreciated.
Thank you for this video. I love your channel. 😎👍
Thank you Hugh, we really appreciate you so much… especially working till so early in the morning on this video! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great video! Finishing from the bathroom. That's dedication! 😂 Impressed with the way the Apple chip handled the footage in the timeline and render, in that demo at the end. Good stuff Hugh!
Great coverage, Hugh!
Thanks for the organised resource!!! Always Hugh Hou!!!
Appreciate the coverage, thank you 🙏
Thank you for publishing this so quickly. I’ve been working in immersive video for 10 years and THIS is the workflow I’ve always dreamt of. No need to stitch ever again!! It’s all in the metadata!
Thank you! This is helping push creation of VR content, all good - the camera outside my price point, but the tools will be great for us.Time: 1:10 AM - you rock!
Thanks Hugh! Appreciate the hard work on this one!
Forgive the lengthy litany of technical questions, but I am curious about a smart approach for post-production workflow with the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive and want to open the question for the community in case there’s insights we can share. At the end of this video, the Blackmagic representative says, “I’m using a M3 Ultra to render this out. It’s possible to use lower spec’ed computers, but that’s a good baseline for you to see.” If we go the M3 Mac Ultra route, what are the necessary GPU/RAM configurations before enhancements deliver nominal marginal utility? For storage, what makes sense to folks? 8TB? Less because Apple internal storage is expensive and go with something like OWC ThunderBlade X12 to supplement? How low can we go? Which MacBook Pro would be suitable to get cracking? Understandably, it’s hard to know until we have actual footage to play with, but any best guesses out there so that we can budget appropriately? Also, MAJOR thanks to Hugh for tirelessly delivering the goods - in depth and ahead of the curve. Much respect!
Great video, can't wait to test with some sample footage.
