Full frame,1.8 liter engine, simple 4 speed transmission and manual windows= $18,000! I’ll take one, maybe two
Would love a 20k small reliable gas truck with no tech.
Oh , it’s an electric truck?. .. never mind
Bring back the real S-10 and Ranger small trucks. No electronic garbage, just two doors, a four-banger with a 5spd.
Remember the 1985 Ford Ranger?. 1082-85 S10?. Two doors, 4 cylinder, maybe 6. Small bed, enough to get groceries, do some gardening and pull a trailer. That's all anyone needs. At a 20k price or Less.
my 2014 toyota yaris: 1.5 liter 4 cylinder nonturbo engine. 4sp auto trans, no cvt. no electronic nannies. no hole in the roof. crank windows. aircon, bluetooth, cruise control. excellent simplicity. i bet that my yaris is more “green” in sum than all the modern eco-cars.
Sounds like a 15-minute city truck...🤣
When I first saw a Cybertruck on the road it was the ugliest thing I have ever seen.
Ranger was a nice little get around little truck
I don't get why Americans still don't understand a 4 door truck is a contradiction. If you're hauling stuff for a job site, you're not having your family in the car, vice versa. You havent seen a job site car. The rest of the world, when you're hauling something, you want the smallest possible cabin with a diesel engine so that you can cram as much as possible and make the least amount of trips. You dont see a lorry/truck with 20 seats! A pick up truck is not a truck. It's just a station wagon, except you get to pay much more for it!
I wish somebody would make a no frills, low priced gas powered utility truck...
The lil' dinkster truck will be perfectly fine with small-town gardeners, plumbers and college students who are looking for that low monthly payment and a warranty.
I don't hate the Slate idea, except for the EV portion of it. Small is fine, but put a nice reliable I4 and manual transmission, and I'm in.
I love the little trucks. It’s like an old ranger or taco
Slade truck is essentially a japanese k truck-- if they made jt with a small 65 hp gas engine at under 20k it would sell without issue
It's about time we have a micro truck in America. This is a heaven sent to people that live in cities or small town. And if you look at before the tariffs how many people imported from Japan k trucks. The part you're missing is it's customizable. And they're open sourcing . The other thing you're not thinking about is the expandable battery packs.
This electric truck would be just fine for people that just want a basic weekend toy. Light landscaping work and so forth. For just in city stuff should be just fine
Slate needs to do this same thing. 4cyl engine. AWD. Manual transmission with an optional auto. They'll sell like hotcakes
I get the mini truck and it has its role. It will never compete with the F350 but there are people who don't need F350 capability. Having said that 150 mile range is not good. Saw one on Jay Leno that has 350 miles which is good enough. Good enough to commute to work (even a town 50 miles over), stop at the home centre and bring home enough stuff for a project or get those planters, pick up that stove or bookshelf from the furniture store or other light jobs. Just double the range.
