The moment I saw an " inheritance email", I knew it was a scam. Also, Steven would have been alive had he not spoken his intentions to his friend.

Why was he telling his friends about his plans to leave her upon receiving the money? One of them was going to gossip, and the news would reach his SO. His big mouth led to his demise. If you're going to break up with someone, do it quickly and quietly.
