to become a millionaire is not about your salary income, it's about where you invest that salary to make more income.
seems like if you job hop every 2-3 years for around 10-15 yrs, then settle down for a company you like and want to retire at will be the best strategy
Great video and insights! I've started my journey with getting my Comptia A+. Long way ahead.
i never thought about like this but yeah i think youre right not much energy put into it and with a salary like that you can still live comfortably
Thanks BRo. while look into your thumline I was expecting somethings else ,but after watching the whole video belive you earn my respect ..Thanks brother , For making this kind of video,,,,,Lots of love from India
You also didn't include inflation in your salary projections. Here is my career progression btw for Jono and anybody else who may be interested - I live in the USA: 2.5 years experience. First company I started at $65k and when I left I was making $75k. I started at Crowdstrike this year and I'm presently making $105k. In about a year I'll be making $140k. In 3 years closer to $200k. I actually had an offer for a F100 company with the salary being $140k and TC being $170k, but I decided to take the Crowdstrike offer instead despite lower compensation because I love the company, and I also believe in the stock long term.
Go for external growth (in case internal won't work) and always negotiate for a higher pay.
I’m looking into getting into cyber security. I have a background in marketing in events, but I’ve always worked with technology companies not saying I know anything about technology ha ha. The benefit I have with my feel is that I could be literally home for an entire month and I make my own schedule. What do you think? I should start with with the free time that I have? I have about two months free starting in the new year.
Your videos have truly inspired me to pursue a career in the IT world and cybersecurity. I really appreciate how straightforward and real you are about the challenges – it’s refreshing to hear that things don’t always work out, but to also not to give up. I’ve been considering the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate, but I don’t have any prior experience in the field. What are your thoughts on this certification for someone starting from scratch?
Interesting. Seems like cybersecurity is a far better career in Australia than here in Canada.
Really interesting video!
I totally agree that you have to invest. I am a bitcoin investor and I also trade stocks and options as well and I second everything you say. i’m looking to get into cyber security as well and I have a lot of free time so I feel if I can leverage my free time and still invest and then when I land a nice job even invest more I think down the line I will be ok.
Dude came to make me millionaire by cs ended up with investment
You can invest in funding companies that need money, this also help you to increase your money faster than stock market in some opportunities. This also an interesting path for investing.
thanks jono your video was really helpful i am a full stack developer i just got my diploma like 3 months a go i found my self have some passion to cyber security i start learning somethings like CompTIA ITF+ just training not to pass the certification i will find a way to get money for buying exam what do you think i should continue or back to my original domain ? please i need your help
just got my network and sec+ in the USA, i want to go into cyber, im currently learning powershell, what else should i learn to increase my chances of bigger entry-level salary befrore i send my first resume as i transition from military? thanks
I don’t care about being a millionaire i just want to be able to make 60 grand a year working 40 hours a week but it send impossible since i don’t know any other rich people to give me a chance at jobs I’m fully qualified for
Can art students do cyber security
This market field is quite uncertain. People with contacts in the field or luck will land a job at least as SOC1. For the rest of mortals it becomes a spiral of sending never ending CV to ads called "entry level" that requires at least 3 years work experience.
