In 1986 Pope John Paul came to our small town in Kerala. The entire communities Christians, Hindus and Muslims went to see the Pope. As an atheist and staunch non- believer I refused to visit the venue. 
Years gone by now I have surrendered my life in the hands of Mother Mary and Lord Jesus Christ.
Saint John Paul forgive my arrogance and ignorance. 🙏

We traveled to Toronto to see him, we were right up next to the ropes, husband scaled a wall to get some photos. When he neared the Church he was to enter to meet with some priests we could hear them chanting--John Paul, John Paul.We had always enjoyed Toronto and its people but the atmosphere that day was friendly, warm, helpful kind. I recall a young man trying to get past the crowd on a bike...impossible...so people started lifting the bike over their heads passing it along while the young man followed along. Even our taxi driver talked about the atmosphere. JP2 pray for the people of Toronto and for my town North East, Pennsylvania. And for all reading this post.

This is the only pope I personally feel connected to because he reigned on my youthful days. I even thought he was going to remain a pope forever 😊. His death really affected me.
