I don't even see her as a Jett replacement. I actually see her as a backup for Jett as they both drop on the enemy heads in a site. Now Jett won't be stuck all alone without backup lol.

The reason why Wingman chases you down might be explained lore-wise, as it is a Radivore. It has Radianite properties, allowing it to "sense" other Radianites. Or maybe it's simpler in that Wingman is a living creature with a brain, so it can see the refraction, and simply choose to follow it. The Raze Boom Bot, for example, locks onto an enemy but loses the target once Waylay enters this Refract animation/dimension/state.

it almost feels like this character is being made not necessarily as a replacement of jett, but as a means of rotating through agents. If I remember correctly, they said they didn't want more than about 25 agents in the roster at any given time, and we are above that number at this point. They may be looking to swap characters out for somewhat familiar yet still different characters in some sort of rotation system soon.

Lore wise, KAY/0 is a robot from the future designed specifically to counter radiant's abilities and skills. He probably was made after Waylay joins the Valorant gang, and consequently, his knife can counter her powers

I don't get people saying she's a better Jett. Jett is a amazing sniper, primarily because her movement abilities are omnidirectional and instantaneous. Weyley's dash is only instantaneous, if she tries to snipe, she'll go straight into the enemies she was trying to avoid.

so in short- a duelist initiator hybrid. her dash helps her become a space maker and close distance, her tp helps her act as a pseudo drone while also enabling her to dodge almost every ability like a reyna dismiss if time correctly. and also hindrance acts in weird ways that can help set up jett with the suspension, or counter a lot of fast characters. additionally, her ult could become a sentinel/initiator with it's wide area of hindrance and highlight for enemies while also providing allies a speed buff.
