@f4micom

tfw i forgot to beep the word "shit" at the end so yeah enjoy some RARE uncensored swearing

@ch3burashka

"I am 14 and I want a high end logitech remote" is a very specific flavor of nostalgia.

@andrewwang8204

10:17 That is a glorious AAA right there

@4caddit

Saw a listing for a $15 Harmony 880 on eBay after watching this video. The listing sold 5 minutes after I bookmarked it. What have you done, f4mi

@LEXXPortPatrol

This is like that Technology Connections idea on the really fancy toaster, in that I’m going to look at my TV remote and always seethe slightly that it could be so much better :’)

@willynelson4091

I love hearing you talk, your accent coupled with the advanced way you structure English sentences makes my brain happy, you communicate your ideas very well.

@bartekjemiol7695

Gotta love the call back to the OG Linus Tech Tips kitchen!

@zoruaboy

9:36 just a quick shout out, Apple TV does actually accept Infrared input! Not only do all revisions of the the Siri Remote have an IR blaster, the Apple TV itself, including the latest Apple TV 4K with A15 Bionic, has an IR sensor. This is to keep compatibility with traditional TV remotes, Accessibility related remotes/accessories, and also Apple's older Apple TV remotes that don't have Siri or Bluetooth

@teeyosher

I'm so glad someone is taking a deep dive into more Logitech products. The only Logitech controller that people remember is the one that sank an entire submarine.

@Carlixyz

I love your arguments about using touch screens for almost everything, this is one of the reasons why gaming still uses gamepads and not any game can work the same on a mobile device, it just isn’t the same feel

@benmatsuda863

I Love the dankpods AAA reference

@willwunsche6940

One of my old phones I had way back before 2016 an LG G6 had an IR blaster in it and it was awesome. The phone worked as a tv remote for anything, any tv, any school projector, etc. My parents used a Harmony Remote for like the last 13 years now and that thing is indestructible and amazing too.

@Madblaster6

I still use a Harmony remote (a new version with the hub). It's so convenient to have everything in one spot and consolidated into your home assistant (google, Alexa, etc). It doesn't just program buttons, it programs timing and sources too, automatically. It account for the model of TV and how long it can take for something to turn on and switch channels, on top of that it can turn other thing on and off in the same instance. like a sound bar. So if I have my TV playing and press the music button it'll turn off the TV and put the soundbar in Bluetooth mode.

@rockey994

7:12 I've only just noticed that the background is in fact NOT REAL, it is a greenscreen and the image is literally the old Linus Tech Tips office-house

@clashblaster

13:55 That's exactly what I was thinking when you first mentioned the Harmony database. Hopefully someone manages to download the whole database at some point, it would be a shame if those codes just got lost once Logitech finally decides to stop supporting the Harmony line.

@nateb8378

My boss has one of the new touchscreen ones shown towards the end and it’s so nice when you have a big home theater setup with lights, sound, tv etc because you just press the macro and it works

@CarrotBo2

You’re my favorite niche internet micro celebrity 🙏🙏

@VermillionPengu

It's like this product came from a different universe where people have absolute control over the things they buy.

@XavierBronxHaloFernandez

everybody stop what you're doing right now f4mi just uploaded

@awill891

I had a Logitech 880 in 2010 and my background was Hayley Williams' topless photo. Eventually the low battery would beep every day so I just ended up getting a newer touch screen version. It looked cool but I gently tossed it on the couch and the screen broke! A couple years ago I got (I assume) one of the last versions of the remote. I rarely use it, only if I cannot find some specific remote for playing SACDs, CRT or VCR.
