@LetsFindOut1

Update: https://letsfindout.gumroad.com/
TL;DR: To those getting mid-roll ads on my videos... I made them available for $1 to download or stream with no ads (with the option to set your own price as a way to give a one-time payment without committing to monthly Patreon or Youtube Membership subscriptions):

I've begun with my White Noise videos, because those have been getting mid-roll ads the most, but I'll be uploading my other content over the next few weeks. The gumroad link above is now the official portal to purchase and watch all my content ad-free (yours to download onto your phone or computer or stream) for what I hope is a reasonable one-time payment (because ads and subscriptions generally suck, but I also have to support my family).

Why the paywalI? I'm generally a believer in owning a copy of the digital content I purchase, and am increasingly annoyed with streaming services whose content can be removed at any time, you never truly own, and don't have the full freedom to access like CDs and DVDs. Like other artists (to the extent I'm an artist) I spend a long time crafting all my videos (even the white noise believe it or not), so I believe it's fair to charge something for it.

On Youtube, I've only ever chosen to have pre-roll ads on my content (before the video starts) and have NEVER placed mid-roll or post-roll ads. I personally sleep to youtube videos, documentaries, lectures, etc. every night, and I understand the importance of not being woken up by unexpected ads in the night. So the ads that Youtube is placing throughout my videos (against my wishes) is very frustrating.

That's why I chose to set this up.

So I hope it makes sense why it's not free but that this still allows everyone affordable access and also gives viewers an option to donate once without having to sign up for monthly/recurring payments (which I've never been a big fan of given I don't produce paywalled content for Patreon or Youtube).

That said, this is an experiment with paywalled content because Youtube is becoming increasingly greedy and obnoxious with overriding my ad options and inserting ads mid-roll on my longer videos. I encourage all of you to give constructive feedback and suggestions if you have any.

And if you support me anywhere, especially you guys generously donating monthly on Patreon, but those just watching on Youtube, I want to give you a sincere thank you. The always-encouraging viewership gives me meaning and motivates me to keep pursuing and improving on this adventure for knowledge, wisdom, health and peace.

Thanks,
Rich

Waited 2.5 years to write this comment. Successfully completed the MS degree having this white noise as my permanent audio while I studied. God bless you all!

To all the desperate parents out there playing this white noise for their babies who absolutely refuse to sleep… You are doing a great job. I know it can be incredibly challenging and stressful. It’s okay to keep the baby in a safe space and leave the room for a quick break.. Either for 5-10 deep breaths or a face wash.. and come back refreshed. It’s okay to feel angry and frustrated.. You are also human. You also need your rest. You are the best mom/dad ever ❤ Thank you to the angel who uploaded this. 🙏🏻

@SleepWhiteNoise3

Don’t worry about your exam. Don’t worry about your test. Don’t worry about the home work due tomorrow. You’re doing amazing and even coming here to study is a start and I’m proud of you! Don’t stress out. You’re doing amazing. You got this. And just remember, I might not know you but at the end of the day I want you to do well, so if you don’t want to study for yourself, study for me. I believe in you ❤

In case someone want to know, here is an explanation about the "color noises"

white noise is comprised of an equal amount of every frequency, all played at once. It happens in real life when your TV or radio makes static noise. however, because of our ears’ frequency response, we perceive higher frequencies as louder, so it doesn’t sound particularly balanced to most people. pretty much any other color is basically a slight variation on white noise, based on a rough comparison between the frequency spectrum and the color spectrum. the most obvious and least helpful to know about, black noise, is simply silence.

Pink noise is essentially bass-boosted white noise, where the amplitude decreases as the frequencies get higher. It got its name thanks to the pink / violet hues present at the lowest frequencies of light. this is the perceptually ‘balanced’ white noise that many of us are comfortable with; a lot of ‘white noise machines’ actually play something that’s a lot closer to pink noise. It sounds similar to the rumble of a thunderstorm, and it’s been proven to help people sleep.

Next, brown noise: the only color we’ll be discussing with a name that doesn’t come from the color spectrum (although, some people do call it red noise for that reason). Its namesake is Brownian motion, the term that physicists use to describe the way that particles move randomly through liquids. It was also discovered by a man called Robert brown, where the name also comes from.
brown noise is even bassier than pink noise; while pink noise boosts bass to adjust for human ears, brown noise boosts bass a bit more, just to further warm things up. this noise is similar to the sound of waves crashing or winds roaring.

Blue noise is, unsurprisingly, the opposite of pink noise. rather than being bass-boosted, it’s treble-boosted, and the frequencies are so high that most of them are barely even perceptible to us. It sounds pretty similar to the hiss that occurs when you stick your thumb in a hose with running water – a high, screechy tone. similarly, some people also use violet noise, which has even louder high frequencies than blue noise (violet is to blue as brown is to pink).

Gray noise is very similar to pink noise, but with one key difference. while pink noise approximates a curve to adjust for all human ears, gray noise is tailored specifically by scientists for each person who uses it. we all share pink noise, but my gray noise isn’t your gray noise. gray follows a much less general curve, with more specific dips and jumps at certain frequencies, to accommodate one’s unique frequency response. It’s used to treat hearing problems like tinnitus and hyperacusis, and doesn’t have many popular use cases outside of medicine.

This is not my comment but @Rxx
Just interesting fun fact to share.

@RoshiiMusic

This is one of the best white noises that i've heard. Usually the white noise videos on YouTube dont have enough bass, so you can still hear people walking or talking in the house. Because of that, I usually listen to red or brown noise videos, but this video is perfect. Now i can listen to white noise and support my man Rich at the same time 😴

Lifesaver for those of us in situations where disrespectful people are loud all night by not turning off tv etc. thank you so much! ❤️

Respect for no ad breaks 🙏🙏

@SteedRuckus

Dude, I have been searching for YEARS to find a balanced enough white noise that it sounds good enough to use with my phone, there's JUST enough low to make it work without being overpowered, nor is it too high.

Thank you so much for making this, this has helped me sleep tremendously!!

to anyone reading , i hope you get everything you want in life

@babyspatter6075

The only white noise that doesn’t overstimulate me 🙂

@blueberrymuffinz

I've been using rain sounds for around a year, but the splattering noises drive me insane. My brain is super active all the time and it hyper focuses on any sharp or unpredictable sounds, so finding a good background noise is painful.

I only just remembered the existence of dedicated white noise and I think I'm saved!
This one is particularly good, no subtle winds or high frequencies. Pure consistency.

On behalf of those with sensory issues and very perceptive hearing, I thank you.

@maldunne3175

Finally the tinnitus stopped. I'm crying with relief and exhaustion . Thank you for saving my sanity . I slept for hours for the first time in years

@Billie_fani

Hey guys, just a stranger on the internet here. Hope you all have a great night sleeping i am proud of you, really. You did well today, truly. No matter what is going on in your life, you are going to make it. I am with you on your journey. Keep moving forward.

@LL-yd7vi

i’ve slept to this exact video for about 4-6 months now, it’s the only video that calms my thoughts and makes them go quiet, i love that there are no ads so i can listen without a jump scare and overall this video is so good. If there was a youtube recap for non music videos this one would definitely have come number 1 for me :) thank you so much for making this video for us that have a hard time sleeping :)
