I think he hired the PR team as the director, not as an actor. The press around this movie has been insane and the message has almost been completely lost as a result. “Wear your florals” is UNHINGED.

Just because someone hires PR, that doesn't mean they did something wrong. I personally believe that once people didn't take Blake's side immediately she decided to use the tired "he made me uncomfortable" line. I have a serious problem with the way Blake is promoting the film, but I also have an even bigger problem with Colleen Hoover. She romanticizes extremely inappropriate themes in almost every single book if not actually in every book, and I think the way Justin tried to promote it doesn't truly align with the book itself so when he refused to play along with their rom com narrative they decided to play dirty. My ex almost succeeded in taking my life when I finally tried to run, and I take issue with CoHo as a whole and with everything Blake has done with this movie. It wasn't hers, and I feel like what Justin was trying to do with it was much closer to what survivors would have wanted to see.
