@joesefcik5328

I appreciate how fast you talk! You keep my interest longer than most presenters. Thanks for your fast style.

@DesFit

For the record, he did in fact let me win :) Beers were on me 🍻

@Teakdust

I just did my first ride with a 1050 after replacing my old 1030. It was an investment, but I felt the old 1030, which still worked fine, was no longer getting support from Garmin. My only criticism is the more forward mount location on the 1050 that rendered the K-Edge mounts on all of my bikes useless. Other than that, it's a joy to use!

@BJKeane-mc6bm

That bell option is SO smart. I always ride with a bell but hate the look and clutter they bring to my otherwise clean/integrated cockpit.

@peterrothstein7478

Have to say after watching the video I decided to give the 1050 a shot. Absolutely a beautiful device. The interface is flawless and the screen is extremely easy to see in all lighting conditions.

@mariodebon8745

Happy to hear that basically all the hardware new features will be available also for 40 series, honestly make no sense to upgrade just for a better screen (an maybe UI), but a lower battery performance. Happy with my 840, thanks for sharing buddy

@peterz4108

The video overlays you do of the devices to show them functioning are great. So useful to see things side by side or just zoomed in and clear, not trying to focus camera on the screens.

@antigen6870

Less battery also means lower longevity of the device since the battery is usually what gives up first. Double charging needs also means half lifespan of the battery

@lisashiela9137

Last year, my 9-year-old Garmin Edge 1000 was starting to fail. I found the new Garmin prices and went immediately into sticker shock. So I started looking at other brands, and it came down to the Wahoo and Karoo. Then in July 2023, Garmin offered the Edge 1030 plus on sale (Prime Day?) for $309.99. I bought it and absolutely love it!

@derx6666

Thanks the the indepth review. I'll be reading the blogpost later. Staying with my 1040, which I'm very happy with. The few updates aren't enough for me to switch units.

@davidnicholson6680

I own the 1040. Is it weird that to me the most compelling feature here is the shifter-triggered bell? I'd actually use that a fair amount.

@michalsz.7179

love the double wrist "I wear my wearable 24/7" marks 😂🎉😊

@SeeYouUpTheRoad

Thank You 1040 Solar has been amazing for the last 14 months. Insane battery life. As an ultra cyclist 600km and 1200km are worry-free regarding battery life.

@chuckb4375

Is the Li-Ion battery replaceable in the 1050? Something that complies with upcoming right-to-repair requirements (EU, etc.) would be a BIG thing that would cause me to upgrade/switch! I'm getting so tired of disposable electronic gadgets that won't hold a charge after a few years...

@bstephens44

12:12 this short clip is one of those why we ride moments - beautiful!

@jazznroll5

Regarding screen brightness, this is not a cell phone, you only look at your bike computer for a fraction of your ride duration. So, nice yes but not so important, plus it bumps up the price and decreases battery life.

@AllanPhillips

I completely agree with your comment about not having buttons. Seems an odd ommission.

@AthrunZalax09a

Garmin has been killing it recently, and I am a convert to the edge series.

But to be honest what would make me upgrade from my x30 series to a new edge isn't a fancy screen, but if they could implement inReach functionality into the unit. I go on plenty of epic rides where there's no cell coverage, and carrying an inReach + edge kinda sucks. Now THAT would be something I'd pay top end iPhone money for.

@TheJeffWinston

Convinced me to buy! Excited to learn all the features and customize the screens to my liking.

@dennishaughton4554

That bike bell is dope! That warning is definitely impressive for sure! All the group ride features are pretty sick! Man I might just try and save the money and grab the 1050.
