This is done right, notice she doesnt use brute force? She uses her speed and flexibility and attacks weak spots on opponents shown to be bigger and stronger than her. You don't make a strong female by making male characters weak, you show that strength isn't everything. This is so much better than anything Disney has recently.

I like how with just a gesture, Mal sends Jayne out to River. He’s not sure what’s going on or why she’s fighting everyone, but she’s part of the crew. And Jayne just wades out to help her as soon as he gets the signal
