@Drivetribe

Would you have this MG, or an RS6? 🤔 Thanks to Redmagic for sponsoring today's video, get yourself a 9S Pro here: https://bit.ly/3WqqPRz

@ish474

The fastest wagon is any borrowed wagon from your parents about 3 minutes before curfew

@cogboy302

Narrow tyres are what you want for top speed runs. The wheel covers are Moon Discs. Not permitted in drag racing, in case they come off, and slice & dice the spectators.

@thoughtful_criticiser

MG Rover spent a fortune on the record but then told nobody! We had a ZT-T responder vehicle it was fast but burned through the tyres every couple of months.

@alexrclark1618

I love Mike sharing his love for MG. Such an underrated and over slated car brand.

@adam.677

"800hp MG that Jeremy Clarkson once LOOKED AT!!"

@thebigwrench6123

Steve morris and his 4500+ hp wagon has tripped the beams in the quarter at 229. He is currently getting very close to 5 second quarter mile time's. Steve is a world class engine builder and is even responsible for creating the monster 5000+hp V16 quad turbo that was built for the Devel 16. I know you are referring to a salt flat car but imagine what could happen in a half mile. Let alone on a 2.5 mile or a 9 mile run as that is what Bonneville used to be

@antontaylor4530

"We're not exactly setting the world alight with speed records lately"

The Ultima GTR holds a long list of road car world records. That's not British, then? Why do people not talk about that thing? It's an absolute beast.

@trance9158

It's not a street car FFS... You might as well say the Blue Flame is one of the fastest cars ever

@more.power.

The best ever interview thank you GO MG

@syaieya

Bonneville record chasers are an interesting bunch. The categories are divided and subdivided down so much that 1000 cars would show up for 100 different classes. Fuel type, engine type, induction type, displacement, chassis type, body type, it goes on and on.

And then on top of that you set these things up to run on the salt which is a whole different world than the tacked up drag strips.

Genuinely though, when a manufacturer shows up with a blank check and a goal, so often we get blessed in a way we could have never dreamed.

@SternLX

The early 2000's ZT-T's are just begging to be upgraded with a Ford Coyote 5.0L engine. They'd drop right in.

@NyckLP

The fact the engine is a Frankenstein'ed V8 with NASCAR and LMP1 engine parts in the same engine is mind boggling to me. I can't believe any other engine in the world has this differently-aimed use parts in the same block. That's awesome!

@glennj9045

See this car at the gaydon British motor museum proper monster great video guys

@Tjescoo

How do you even dare to act like MG is still British?

@nikolajc7617

But not a production car.

@0Y02USH

Mike and MG are an inseparable yet cute couple at this point! 😅😂❤

@interceptor-ss8kb

Really it should be in a museum as its not a road car but a car with a Really cool story.

@cogboy302

People here are confusing 'fast' and 'quick.' And talking about street cars.

Lots of comments about 6 second street cars like Steve Morris's Chevy Caprice, which is the knarliest wagon I know of, and has run 6's at 215mph over the 1/4 mile.

The MG isn't a street car. And it ran 225mph. With probably less than a 1/3 of the horsepower of Morris's Caprice.

Not a quick car, but a fast car on the salt flats.

@Karl-me4mh

I am pretty sure some of the german estate cars, that were tuned for drag racing could beat it with the righ transmission range tbh. It's just that nobody really tries.
