When I was little and my family lived in Iceland because my Dad was in the Air Force. My Dad was trying to speak to an Icelander about Jesus, but my Dad didn't speak Icelandic and the man didn't speak English all of a sudden my Dad could speak Icelandic and told him about Jesus. After that moment my Dad could no longer speak Icelandic. My Dad never had another experience like that. I do think people can speak in another language when the Holy Spirit wants them to and to help another person to know Jesus Christ.

@dannieden4596

My question is why is she recording herself praying?

For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort. Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church. I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified.
1 Corinthians 14:2‭-‬5

@robbieauman9157

Allie, I think you are referring to the fact that she posted this online being the biggest reason you think it is wrong? I sort of agree with you there but we can’t throw the baby out with the bath water. Just because speaking in tongues isn’t considered normal in American mainstream Christianity doesn’t mean that it isn’t needed and practiced. Even if it was being faked 99% of the time we can’t disregard the 1%. There are just too many miraculous stories about tongues for them to all be made up. Also, I want to say that I obviously don’t agree with you about every single thing you say but would like to thank you so much for always boldly standing for our Christian faith.

@nicole106015

Paul clearly said not to forbid speaking in tongues and he said he spoke in tongues more than all those he was writing to. He also said prayer in the spirit and he prayed with understanding as well.

@Ammie-t5i

While i agree that you shouldn't put a video like this on social media i would caution people saying that its gibberish or demonic. Its possible she's doing this out of ignorance.

@k9felinePeru

100% agree
I dont speak in tongues with ease at all but many years ago I was getting ready for church and this feeling of anxiousness and desperation invaded me. Not knowing what to do I threw myself on the floor and just prayed God I am going to be late for church, what is going on? And a flood of weird words came out of me and I was very late for church. I didnt tell anyone until the next week. Our youth pastor told us he was evangelizing in the Amazon and the trees around the church caught fire and it was closing in on them and were barely able to get out on time. And he jokingly said, while you were all safely singing here we were about to be burnt alive. And that was the exact time I was praying in tongues.

@jonathansmyth9249

God is not the author off confusion.

@irishchocolate3872

In the New Testament when they spoke in tongues it was a foreign language. Not gibberish.

@yourfriendlyneighborhoodin1559

Yep, I spent 25 years in the Assemblies of God.
Never saw anyone speak a real human language. Like in Act chapter 2.

@Cuvoastoh6321

She is not praying in public, she is not doing it to gain fame or recognition, she is displaying a biblical tenant to help others to see and learn the ease of this procedure. Just like when we go to Bible study and we share biblical principles, she is doing the same thing here, not asking for anything, not looking for any kind of repayment or glorification, you sister are in the wrong for trying to slander her. She has not damaged you in any kind of way. Shame on you.

@lanerussell7958

Sorry, Allie, you're mistaken. Speaking in tongues is Biblical, as it's literally in the Bible. It still happens today in the churches that accept the written word of God. Undoubtedly, there are some who abuse, or imitate it; but speaking in tongues as the initial sign of the infilling of the Holy Ghost is real. I recommend that instead of telling those of us who've got it that we don't have it, that you give it a try for yourself, and see if there isn't a change for the better.

@hisforever4937

Sorry but you are wrong . This is a prayer language and it’s available to every Christian and it’s WONDERFUL to have as it edifies and builds us up it’s for empowerment .
Why did Paul in book of Acts , ask the BELIEVERS if they got the Holy Spirit and they responded “ no we have not heard of such “
Why would he ask believers this? He layed hands on them and they received AND were filled and they started speaking in tongues and prophesying.
There is a gift of tongues that you can move in and if you do it in public setting , then yes it needs to be interpreted. But theses are two different things. It’s all Biblical.

@charleensain6459

I feel that delving into different doctrines is only going to divide us as believers. I really like your podcast, but I really don't think this subject should be priority. It will only divide us, no matter what you believe.

@tangelfields

Just remembered why I don’t follow this page . 😬

@rgnold2517

My question is how biblical is it to go online and try to slander somebody because they are showing how to put a simple Bible principle into practice? This "Ali" person is way out of line, very smug with the face rolling gesture, full of arrogance and the devil. The young lady in the video is doing nothing more than sharing like you would at a Bible study, any other Bible principal. You've not been harmed because you've witnessed this. And she is not asking to be "recognized" in any kind of way.

@Cuvoastoh6321

It doesn't matter that she posted the video online, have you been damaged because you've seen a person using this particular gift? Maybe somebody gained an understanding from this being posted online. Isn't it just because you're jealous of her?

@jeaninefrye6229

Never judge tongues, unless a person is acting out inappropriately in public. Tongues is biblical. Why not criticize a person speaking in Spanish, French, or other language. The tongues is also a prayer language between you and God.

@angel5rai

Speaking tongues is for the enemy not to understand. It's very powerful. You have to really study this topic to understand. It's so much deeper than just a simple, humble prayer.
