Throw your suggestions down below for topics you'd like to see us cover. A lot of people asked for Social Distortion, so here it is.

@Jestyr_Actual

After 40 years, Mike Ness got awarded with the Key to the City of Fullerton, on top of just kicking tonsil cancer's ass! Mike's gone thru hell, and thankfully he's still with us.

@Jay-gl6oz

Mike dated my mother briefly in the 1980's, he signed the guitar they would play together, 40 years later it's the coolest thing I own

@stevecoronado8608

I met Mike at Classic Tattoo, Fullerton. My friend Eric Maaske tattooed him at his shop. Mike was selling his 55 Pontiac, and Eric arranged the meet and greet, and I purchased the Pontiac from Mike.

@zannapics

In 1989, Soundgarden opened for Social Distortion and I was lucky to be there.

@SociallyDistorted

65 yrs old and still rockin out to SocD. To me, best band ever.

@lolopotatoes9397

Social distortion and their songs got me through high school and probably kept me from hanging myself . I hope I get to see Ness live one day.

@jiminychristmas123

The first cd I ever bought way back in 8th grade was Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell. Now at 45 and I still listen to Social D all the time. Mike is an incredible songwriter. I’m glad I finally got to see them a few years back.

@DaemonHicks

Mommy's Little Monster was my favorite album way back when Mike moved in next door to me in Huntington Beach. I was thrilled to say the least. We hung out in his down time before he got sober – sharing meals and stories. We even worked out some progressions on songs that ended up on Prison Bound. He said I played well but that I was too metal (my early Ritchie Blackmore and Iron Maiden influences always intruded). He was like a big brother for a bit, rightfully telling me that some of the punks I hung with were bad news. I eventually took his advice and cut them loose. In some ways it was it was a case of "Don't meet your heroes" because the mystique could never match reality. God forbid he be human, right? He was and is a solid human being. I wish him well.

@lagodifuoco313

Social D is in my top 5 favorite all-time bands!!!

@MandaMalice

Second time in just a few weeks you covered a “this band save my life” bands. Again this is one of those bands that are incredibly personal to people. There are a few moments in my life that are permanently bonded to SxDx songs. So many long time fans can say the same.

@PrecisionPointTennis

I toured with them in the early 90s and was also the first opener before Screaming Trees. Love SD

@Michael-we9vp

While working security at Harpos in Detroit, I met Mike Ness and the rest of Social D. Unlike other bands, these guys were humble and down to Earth. They even invited me to the backstage buffet!

@brokens1097

One of my all time favorites. If you grew up in this scene, he left a permanent mark in your memory. Nothing but respect.

@jefferysteen1041

White light,white heat,white trash is a great album!Every song is rockin'!

@mohollywood

MIKE AND SOCIAL D WERE EARLY EARLY HEROES OF MINE. I SAW THE PRISON BOUND TOUR WHEN I WAS STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL. AND LATER EMBRACED ROCKABILLY AS A LIFESTYLE. COMING FROM OHIO AND MOVING TO LOS ANGELES, I UNDERSTAND THE CULTURE SHIFT HE HAD EARLY ON VERY WELL. I'M 34 YEARS SOBER NOW AFTER QUITTING THE YEAR I SAW THE BAND.....

@mattgoodmangoodmanlawnmowi2454

Last I heard Mike’s cancer surgery went well.

Speedy recovery Mike. You are a true rocker, paid the dues of freedom. And sustained me in college.

Thanks Mike & Social D.

@J_the_IV

I bought the self titled cassette back in 1990 during my freshman year of high school. And to this day it’s still something I listen to at least once a week.

@garageink74

Somewhere between heaven and hell is one of my all time favorite albums. Social D is my youth. Love them. Wishing Mike a speedy recovery.
