I started as freelance artist in 2019 right after COVID pandemic, it was heaven for me. But after 2023, especially during 2024-2025 where recession starts to begin in North America and inflations, it’s hard to keep up mentally. It is exhausting after doing everything alone when the monthly income is way below average compared to minimum wage low-skilled jobs. When it comes to be a freelance artist, you have to build your name or pen-name, your unique art styles, and targeting audience from entertainment subjects like video games or anime series that people on social media like to see. Some artists can keep up very well because they have connections and socialize with others and know how to market themselves, but if you do not have marketing skills and be like the it-girl influencers that put themselves in their video at the same time, it’s very challenging.

I was thinking about quitting my job and trying to work freelance, but I'm afraid of what you said in the video happening. I want to focus more on my arts but I don't have time to do that because of my job, and I don't know if it's a good idea to quit my job to just work on my arts… I've been in this dilemma for two years…. 😢😢

I recently quit drawing and I hate how many people say "oh just take a break" why just to draw again and feel miserable? I'm tired of staring at my pc judging every line, and I'm hoping I can find a new path.
