The "Russian" cookie does indeed look like the ones that we actually have here, "песочное печенье" (or shortbread, as it translated), a very crumbly type of cookies (usually shaped like flowers) Although of course ours has a jam filling centre, not cherry blossom ....chocolate? 😅
