@pinkienej

So pinkie pie is like having a ginger when the family has brown hair

@peterbutler1232

Imagine doing all this research only to find out that the creator just liked the color pink. That makes me hope Lauren finds this video.

@Sw3etStrawBree

Pinkie originally was a pale pink, but became expressive and her colors became bright. That’s honestly the only thing I know that proves that she’s related.

@cookiesandpudding8485

I feel like people who immediately assume her looking different = adopted havent met/seen a lot of mixed families or cases where a child expresses recessive traits that don’t look like their parents at all

@Barakon

4:46 there must also be a trait for saturation which she go from her dad while everyone else got low saturation from their mom.

@StarrySkiez712

One thing that hinted that Pinkie isn’t adopted is her hair texture. Sure we see her with curls all the time, but her hair is only curly because it was frizzed up by Rainbow Dash’s first Rainboom. Otherwise, it is straight.

@AmberSong

PONY GENETICS USING RGB HEX CODES! THAT IS GENIUS. Please continue. I am of the utmost curious about the rarest pony genetics.

@HunnyBudders

I always thought Pinkie was a visual representation of that Geode metaphor that Lime used about Maud's boyfriend. How a geode looks like a plain rock but has beautiful colorful crystals inside. Pinkie comes from a humble and unassuming background but showed she was a sparkling and colorful spark of hope when she believed she would only be a rock farmer her whole life. She was even a duller pink before she got her Cutie Mark.

@JamFleecy

Now I like to think that Pinkie Pie's genetics sucked the color out of Marble Pie's genes bc it got hungry

@rorytelling

My headcanon is that Igneous had red or pink hair before going gray and Pinkie is the only one who inherited anything around that color. MLP genes don't seem to differentiate between mane color and coat color, often showing children who reverse their parent's color scheme, so it doesn't matter that only his hair was pink lol

@Kilvieo

Several years ago I asked my friend who introduced MLP to me "Are you sure Pinkie Pie isn't adopted? She looks really different from her family."

Even though I already knew that Pinkie and Marble are twins, and the fact that Pinkie and Maud have special senses that run in the family, I was still skeptical about Pinkie actually being related to her family. For years, the only answer I got online was that the creator if the show simply wanted Pinkie to stand out from her family, despite being related by them.

That answer never satisfied me, because many character's parents are shown in the show, and you can clearly see the resemblance. So it would be weird that they would make Pinkie's family the acception.

I'm SO glad that you made this video explaining how and why Pinkie being related to the Pie family makes sense.

@fiveythefox3318

I’d like to point out that we might not be seeing the true colors of the characters’ fur in the show. Certain emotions can cause their vibrant coats to turn gray, as seen in some episodes. When considering the personalities of the main characters, most of them align with emotions that produce bright, colorful coats and manes, like Pinkie Pie, who had a grayish coat before the Sonic Rainboom restored her vivid colors.

@ferrets8887

I’d also take into account the fact that she was always more muted in her palette before earning her cutie mark, which also helps it make more sense

@gemmithedragon

i love that the MLP RGB spectrum genetics theory is surfacing again. i remember seeing it like 10 years ago !

@sparxstreak02

I always associated Pinkie’s pinkness as recessive genes 🧬 like how Pound & Pumpkin Cake inherited their ancestors’ Pegasus & Unicorn genetics even though there were so many generations in between.

@princembat

theres also definitely people in real life that dont look very much like their families despite being related for sure. whether it be recessive genes like having a blonde or ginger grandparent or great grandparent, or biracial siblings where one is light skinned and light haired while the other is dark skinned and dark haired, or even stuff like albinism! honestly genetics are just really weird and cool so its fun to try to apply them to characters where it definitely wasnt thought of that deeply XD just an extra level of love for the characters and franchise!

@jewelia2606

I love when people try to figure out pony genetics ❤!

@EmilyWalcerscreations

I actually just headcannon Igneous had pink hair when he was younger lol, but this makes a lot more sense

@senylalala

0:45 she’s totally checking her out

@BrandonHenderson-7H4

I think Pinkie has some kind of chaos magic. Not the same chaos magic Discord has, but some pony version of it that earth ponies can cluelessly get when born or some reality-wrapping event occurs.
