It's also the most realistic portrayal of dressing at that time. Low rise jeans, layered tops, childish prints, bandeau top dress
+ Megan Fox was PERFECT casting for the role.
This movie was so ahead of it's time
"she has no choice but to think of herself as a prize so she dresses to look like one" is so powerful tbh
I heard that a lot of her clothes are actually from children's ranges to emphasise that she's more vulnerable than she lets on.
The thing about this movie is that it’s actually not about power— it’s about powerlessness. Yes, Jennifer has new supernatural physical capabilities that give her a certain amount of power, but she can only lash out to those nearest to her. The real monsters, the ones who stripped of her autonomy and stole her life away, are unreachable to her. Her power is superficial in the context of her story and trauma. Despite the movie’s flaws, I find that aspect to be truly heartbreaking.
She was a monster but I think the real reason for killing boys and not girls is that well it was men who did that to her and offered her up and took advantage of a teenager she was just getting her revenge in a way
This movie was too ahead of its time to be appreciated. It was absolutely tragic and funny, so many layers. I love the focus on the friendship, love and codependency between her and Needy...I was entangled in my own codependent and dysfunctional relationship with my foster sister/best friend when it came out and related very much to some of the elements in their friendship. Love this movie. Oh and the music was top tier.
It’s extremely ironic that when the movie came out when I was in middle school, everyone HATED it. Now 10 years later, Megan Fox is getting her dues and everyone is truly appreciating the movie more than ever
"i can fix her" yeah, will , i can accept her as she is
It’s always both annoyed and amused me how the trailers/promos used the scene of Jennifer strutting down the hallway in her heart hoodie to make it seem like “oh look at how hot she is!! she stands out because she’s so sexy” when in the actual context of the scene, YES, she stands out, but it’s because everyone around her is mourning the dozens of classmates that just died and she’s just happily and cavalierly skipping about and glowing (bc of the souls she’s consumed).
Jennifer is the queen of “if you treat me like I’m disposable, I will show you what disposable means” and every victim of SA (myself included) that I know has a strong bond with this character because it really showcases the what ifs of letting that darkness that the perpetrators leave you with win.
Jennifer’s Body is the aesthetic that I want 😩😩😩
I mean… she wasn’t wrong though she ate that entire movie🗣️‼️‼️‼️
Feathers falling out may also reference to the biblical origins of demons/the devil I.e. fallen angels.
She really was a great actress for this part. You hit it spot on when you said she's a victim but also a monster because she was forced to be a monster who was taken advantage of but she learned she can kill the men who only want her for her body like the men who did the ritual on her. It's a really great movie and I'd recommend it to 13+ people
She has lost her humanity by taking .. nooooo she has lost her humanity by getting sacrificed.
This movie suffered because it was written for women, but advertised to men. I wish we lived in a world where this movie performed better at release
No wonder why megan fox once said this was her favorite movie to act in
