I was 17 years old when I first listened to the shortened version on local Chicago AM/FM. A great time for many, and watching, Chaka and Rufus sing and jam to this. I can say, honestly, Chaka delivered with her superb vocals, and the "sista" was fine and talented. A great time when music moved your senses to joy.

Heard that song in 1975 for the first time either on WTAC "The Big 6" (600 AM) in Flint, Michigan with Fred "Boogie" Bryan or the late Johnny Cole. Also played on 96 WHNN "96 WIN" (96.1 FM) in Saginaw, MI back then when I was 10 years old!!!
