the song lyrics heavily reference the idea of your own self, and others' perceptions of you, co-existing as almost completely different people

i need to read the event story to get a better understanding, but the way im interpreting it so far is that the Mafuyu in Kanade's mind, who shes trying to save, is not necessarily the same as the Mafuyu who exists within her own self

another line in the song also goes:

"the version of you in others' minds
dreaming up how to connect (those fragmented pieces of you) together
but you can't really gather anything from that D/N/A (me, who you pieced together in your own mind)
as my own pain exists within my own self"

actually, my thought was that it's about mafuyu's mother. kanade's trying to figure out the "you in someone else's mind," which i interpret to be mafuyu's perception of her mother compared to kanade's. also, since they're related — sharing DNA — it's a double entendre
