Why not make tuition lower? Tuition has increased faster than almost everything....wonder why?  Could it be because the govt guaranteed the loans rather than the universities providing an increasingly competitive education/degree?

Having the school held accountable would be a great first start. THEY are the ones increasing tuition at an alarming rate.

Why not lower the interest rate and make it so you can file bankruptcy? Also if it takes you 20 years to pay it back, it's not affordable. affordable is maybe 5 years.

Good. The entire student loan system was a terrible to begin with and the results show that.  People with no financial literacy, no actual research done into college and degrees, were given loans they would not have qualified for if it wasn’t government back.
