Hello, I am a woman living in Turkey. On October 4th, a horrific incident took place in Turkey. Two young women, named İkbal Uzuner and Ayşenur Halil, both 19 years old, were brutally murdered by Semih Çelik, who is also 19. Their heads, arms, and legs were severed and dismembered. The government and the media are not taking action on this issue and are even trying to impose a media blackout. Alongside this case, many women who have been harassed and threatened are trying to make their voices heard through social media. Stephanie, you have a large following, and as a woman, we ask you to amplify our voice globally. In Turkey, 290 women have been killed just this year. I am a survivor of the Lahaina Wildfires which burned an entire Hawaiian city to the ground, killed over 100 people, displaced thousands, etc. That night I evacuated with 2 people from my apartment and made it into the ocean where we stayed overnight to survive the flames. When I finally escaped the ocean I only made it out with 1 of the 2 people i evacuated with. I was one of many who would lose someone i loved that night. Not only is this a tragedy which whispers of future super storms (like were seeing right now in florida) and climate change disasters, but also NEGLIGENCE. I have never seen so many conspiracy theories around a situation. Many conspiracies like chinese lasers are too wild. Others like why our local government decided to PURPOSEFULLY not sound the emergency sirens or send an evacuation text have been now proven to not even be a conspiracy just the unfortunate truth. A huge document was released showing fault by the government and by the power companies. Its a disaster that happened to take my whole town but it could take any town anywhere and its an important story!!! the re-build is equally disastrous. I made international news with my version but theres thousands of unique stories from that day. to find my story I have dozens of news article/podcasts/ etc just look up "Annelise Lahaina Fire" on google and you will find more. Please platform my town which is still struggling desperately to rebuild!!!
