This is the year the 80s really began. This was a real vintage year for music.

What a year , I remember riding my bike through town and hearing these songs blaring from cars and houses . The roller rink was the place too π
Oh Sherrie. Probably the 80's best song out of hundreds. The '80's- the BEST musical decade!
Great music!
1983 was the year we all realized exactly what this decade was going to be about. The music, the fashion and the culture all coalesced into something that we knew was going to make history, a decade like no other. MTV was a cultural phenomena, the 2nd British invasion was well underway, the decades biggest icons were made like Madonna, Michael Jackson, Prince, Boy George. David Bowie and Rod Stewart were on fire. All-girl Bananarama broke the glass ceiling making way for The Bangles and The Go-Go's. Bands like Depeche Mode and Talking Heads ushered in the New Wave while Def Leppard's hit "Photograph" blew up the charts and set the standard for 80's Rock. Music blew up Hollywood with the film Flashdance that year paving the way for Footloose and Dirty Dancing to dance the box office away. 1983 was the big road sign that said "Welcome to the 80's! You have arrived at your destination!"
I was 15 years old in 1983. β£ 44 songs I well remember as awesome. β£ 5 songs I recall hearing in passing at the time but didn't know the artist. β£ 13 songs I am unfamiliar with but were from well-known artists. β£ 5 songs I had never heard before nor of the artist at the time.
So much variety. It was awesome. I'll never forget the music in the 80's.
Our prime has passed folks, but at least we now have youtube and fine uploaders like Boogiehead to help us remember those fabulous days. I'm now 59, I can't change that, but I can remember the past and enjoy the present.
1981-1985 is the greatest and most influential music era in my humble opinion with 1983 and1984 in a photo finish as THE two greatest years...............
Class. The 80s music was the best decade of them all πππ
i have never even seen most of these videos before, but LOVED the music, listened all the time. so, its really cool to finally see them. or at least bits of them.
"Don't stop believing" may be Journey's most popular song but Faithfully is Journey's BEST song.
Over forty years later...Stevie Nicks still stops my heart!
