@RosesAreRed3

Filipino desserts are so underrated. Those ube, pandan, calamansi, mango, coconut flavored desserts are to die for. Baked goods such as Braso de Mercedes, Sansrival, enseymada, leche flan, mamon etc are just the best.

@icerag

"Halo" means to mix. But contrary to most blogger's assertions, "Halo-halo" when used in Filipino is not "mix-mix" but "a mixed variety". "Halo-halo" can also refer to any mixed variety of things, and not just solely to the dessert. For the dessert, the literal translation would be "a mixed variety of dessert ingredients".

Champorado is one of those dishes that instantly brings you back to childhood with just one bite—so comforting, especially on rainy morning days.😊

@mln7771

Filipinos have a wicked sweet tooth. I personally love the cold desserts with coconut milk, sago and jellies. I find it's difficult to eat rich rice cake desserts because of the heat, but we do have amazing cold desserts and beverages for cooling off, called pang palamig. Also Filipino raw sugar or muscovado sugar is outrageously delicious. So complex. Thank you for appreciating our food Mike! Love your videos. Love your enthusiasm. Keep up with this great content. Have watched for a long time and I'm still watching.

@kingerniemenor8128

Rice cakes has its own category in the Philippines called "kakanin". Puto, kutsinta, putobumbong, maja, bibingka, sapinsapin, palitaw, etc. If you love rice, everywhere in the Philippines we eat rice in variety of ways that so diverse in flavor. I always LOVE your vlogs man. I wish I can share you our province of Oriental Mindoro to try our best rice cakes " Suman sa Lihiya" and our Puto is good too.

@Harklein

This series so far is making me think Mike doesn't want to go back to the US anymore because he feels so at home here.

@Ma.Karenina

Thank you for this, Mike! You’ve become so knowledgeable on Filipino cuisine—bravo! Really loving this series!

@mikeg.9901
